We finished up our Midwest Trip with a visit to Green Bay. Uncle Don and Aunt Joyce were kind enough to pick us up in Chicago and take us to visit with Debbie, Phil and the kids. Drew had a great time hanging out with his older second cousins and Russ and I enjoyed the company and the great food...Man, did we eat a lot! Brats, cheese, frozen custard, butter burgers, and more....It was a great visit and we enjoyed seeing the sites of Green Bay! Their almost 10 year-old daughter, Meaghan, loved hanging out with Drew and we loved the relaxation of having someone else entertain him for a bit! It was great to see our often shy little man warm right up to someone new and follow her onto the swings, backyard, down the street, whatever without a care in the world as to where his parents were!
We went to a Wildlife Conservatory to feed the ducks and geese. Drew was excited and trying to say "duck" and tried tasting the grain before he offered some up to the little animals. He got down to feed them, but hesitated a bit too long between reaching in the bag for the grain and throwing it to the geese, and he got nipped! After a quick cuddle with mom, he quickly learned to throw out the grain as soon as he possibly could, and he was ready to get back down on the ground for some feedings. It was funny to watch him catch on so quick!
