This year has been such an anomoly for Richmond! Usually we only have a good snow every 5-7 years or so, but this year we have been blessed with 2 major snowstorms, and January is not even over yet! We have already gotten about 8 inches, and it is still snowing hard, with no signs of stopping. Thankfully I was not scheduled to work this time, and I could go out and enjoy the snow with my growing family. Surprisingly, my ski pants still fit, but we had to be creative to get some gear ready for Drew, since I never thought it would be a good use of our money to purchase snow pants, boots, or more than 2 sets of hats and mittens given our usual climate.
We headed out early this morning and we probably had 5 inches on the ground. Although Brady had the most fun of all, Drew was a close second. As soon as we stepped outside, we heard kids call "Hi Brady, hi Drew!" and rush on over to play with us. They certainly are the ambassadors of the family in our new neighborhood. A few snowballs and snowangels later, the neighborhood girls started line dancing, singing Cotton Eyed Joe, and Drew got in the mix. Russ was such a hit sharing his own dance moves, that when we started to say goodbye to head inside, the 11 year-old girl down the street asked me if Russ could stay out and play! After hot cocoa and some dry clothes, we hopefully are all ready for an afternoon nap.
