Is January Over Yet?

For those of you who check in on us from out of town, I apologize for being so out of touch. This month has been a sick one for the Haskin family. Poor Drew has only had one good night sleep in the past 4 weeks (as have his parents). He has had two ear infections now since the New Year started....You know it is getting bad when he can't get the "pink bubbledum" medicine anymore, and he is on to white chalky stuff:) Russ and I have had colds off and on, as has the little guy. The humidifier is in full swing, the nose drops are being done, but there is not too much else to do:)

I picked the little guy up yesterday afternoon and he was boiling up! I should have known something was wrong when he was passed out asleep on the floor surrounded by toys and his little buddies (he is not prone to napping much in the afternoon). Sure enough his temp was 104 so we headed off to the doctor's office. Although he was sure to be feeling crumby, he was still charming the pants off of the other parents in the waiting room. Thankfully our pediatrician is open till 8pm and we did not need to go to the ER. Hopefully the antibiotics will do their magic and he will feel better soon. The doc also mentioned that the flu is circling Richmond, so we all might have a mild case of that as well. Since it was so late, we declined to wait around to get swabbed since there is nothing to do for it anyways, except tender loving care...
