Rice Cereal.....Yum!

Contrary to my nature, I decided to not wait the complete 6 months to start solid foods as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics....and instead, started 5 days early! Such behavior was quite shocking, even to myself. However, I was driven by a desire for my son to be able to have sweet potatoes and turkey by Thanksgiving...and thus needed to get rolling. Russ and I were both home, it was a weekend, so if any allergies would develop, we would both be on hand to handle it. So, we dove in and gave it a try and Drew loved it!!! He enjoyed spitting it back out, playing with it on his high chair, and biting the spoon. By the end of the feeding, he actually was opening up his mouth like a little bird, enjoying the experience. Of course then he needed a bath, a book, and then off to bed. Hopefully it will go as well tomorrow!
