Ah, Chicago!!!!

Well, instead of sitting alone with Drew this year on my birthday, I decided to join Russ for his conference and celebrate with the whole family in Chicago. Aunt Kristin met up with us in Chicago, and while Dad worked all day, we played! Drew and I saw the city the way we like it best......on foot and stroller! I was very thankful to have brought the Bugaboo because we went everywhere....Navy Pier, Millenium Park, the Aquarium, Magnificent Mile, John Hancock Building, the Architecture River Tour....you name it! I am proud to say that we only took a taxi once, and under protest from myself!
Drew loved traveling...and loved hotel life! He would wake up in his pack-and-play each morning and yell out "Dada!!!!!" with great delight. He enjoyed looking out the window right above his crib at the ferris wheel at Navy Pier and would quickly meander over to the stroller in our room and whine to go outside and play! We loved going down to see Daddy at his conference and he charmed all of Dad's clients and coworkers. The only meltdowns occurred in Tiffany's (go figure) and during one meal, where he only needed to be bribed with chocolate chip cookies by the chef to keep calm. It was great hearing him say "ooh ah" when we rose above the clouds on our flight, and so cute to see him passed out on the seat of the limo. He definitely liked traveling in style...I wonder where he gets that from? It was great to see Kristin and I know that she loved spending some city time with her little nephew. Russ was thankfully done with his conference in time for a birthday dinner with the fam to celebrate my 31st! It was great to be with him on his trip, and we will definitely be tagging along again sometime soon.....
Starting off the day at the airport...at 5 am

Glad you had such a fun birthday! I was thinking of you (even if, as generally happens, I neglected to actually follow through). I love Chicago, too- and its a fun city for kids. Let me know any tricks to becoming older and wiser- I still have a little over a month as a young kid of only 30 :)
