Giving Matty a Baptism hug
We traveled up to Rochester in early December for Matty's Baptism. It meant so much to me to be able to meet the little guy who was in the womb at the same time as Rhys, and what a sweet little boy he is! My sister-in-law was incredibly comforting during my recent pregnancy, never forgetting to call after an ultrasound to check in or lend an ear. Seeing Matty and Rhys together was just a dream come true! Only four weeks apart, they seemed so similar in temperament.
Drew probably had the best weekend of his entire life! He was thrilled by everything Uncle Bill....Uncle Bill's car ( a new van with tv), Uncle Bill's house, Uncle Bill's toys, and Uncle Bill's kids. Alex and Owen were incredibly welcoming right from the start, and the kids all played so well together all weekend long. I was worried that Drew might be a bit ornery after getting up at 3am for the flight, but his cousins greeted him a the door and they played all weekend without a single fight. All of my brothers were there, as was Nana and my parents. It was great to all get together in their beautiful house and celebrate Matty's birth and life. Drew still asks when we are going back to Rochester, and where Uncle Bill is. We have some of these pics in frames in the family room and we will often see him just staring at them wistfully. I can't wait to get the cousins together again soon. Hopefully Drew will be as gracious a host as his older cousins were:)
