Ready to Open
This year we stayed in Richmond for Christmas and celebrated in a very low key style. Poor Rhys was not feeling too well, so he missed out on many of the festivities, but enjoyed the extra cuddle time with his parents. Drew got into Santa as Christmas drew near, surprising us by saying that Santa was going to bring him a hockey stick. Thankfully, Santa did just that! and he enjoyed playing hockey Christmas morning with Dad.
On Christmas Eve, we went to church and sat right up front for the Christmas Pageant. Drew was quite impressed with the cute little angels. The boys exchanged presents before they went to bed. Rhys bought Drew some play cupcakes, that were a big hit, and Drew made Rhys a picture of a baby hockey stick, since we could not find a baby hockey stick in Target, no matter how hard we tried. Thankfully, Rhys didn't seem to know the difference.
On Christams Day, Drew cuddled up in bed with us while we waited for Rhys to get up from his nap. When we went downstairs, he immediately focused in on the hockey stick and was not interested in anything else for at least a half an hour. And then, he noticed all the Thomas wrapping paper and really got into the presents. He really seemed to love them all! We spent the day opening gifts, cuddling Rhys and playing games, puzzles, trains and blocks....and of course hockey. We skyped with our families and ate some yummy eggs benedict. And then we woke up to snow!
A Richmond tradition was made....hockey and a white Christmas!

Will do! I believe that we are soon to be eligible for season tickets next season. R has been on the waiting list since high school. We will be sure to share the wealth since we are so far away from the stadium:)
